Say what you will about the F-35, I just love how it looks.

I got to finally see it in person last summer and I can confirm, it is a good looking aircraft.

Good looking piece of machinery there. Also did they fix the whole melting through the deck issue. Kind of important since my taxes are paying for 138 of the things alongside 2 seriously not needed carriers.

I think they’ve fixed it. If not, I’m sure it’s on the punch list.

I’m not so sure those carriers are not needed, especially with the looming, shall we say, “disagreements” with the Chinese over who exactly owns the Pacific Ocean.

Wrong Navy. Unless the Royal Navy decides the best way to justify the insane cost of these things is to get involved with the incoming Pacific Shitstorm.

Ah. Sorry. I’ve lost track of how many carriers the US is building or has built (/humble brag, /we’re actually broke). I’ve read a bit about the current RN fiasco of carriers and aircraft. What a nightmare.

It’s interesting how different that wing is. I guess it needs the lift for carrier ops?

The F-36C, with it’s longer wings, is definitely the looker of the bunch.

I might be wrong but I thought the C model had a higher aspect ratio wing than the B and A model.

Also I didn’t think that the A and B model had Flaperon mode for the outer most control surfaces

You may be right. I don't know.

Kinja'd!!!

It’s actually not a higher aspect ratio, it’s just bigger overall. Like, holy shit that’s a lot of wing for a fighter big.

I never knew there were different wing sizes. Interesting. Thanks for pointing that out.
